CHILD-SLEEP: Sleep for cognitive, social and emotional development
The Child-Sleep project aims to study the early development of sleep and sleep rhythm and its effect on health, as well as the effect of family environment and genetic factors in this process. In addition, the mechanisms leading to sleep disorders and the effect of preventive measures for sleep disturbances are studied. Newborn babies and their parents from the Pirkanmaa Hospital District are recruited during 2011-2012. The recruitment is done via the maternity clinics. Rich phenotype information is collected via questionnaires and from maternity clinics and child health centres.
